In this chapter, things go horribly wrong for Neel and his friends.
It was two nights before our departures from Ebaru. Almost all our belongings were packed, and we’d gone to bed early. We were tired, not just from all the work, but even more from the emotions.
Though I could usually block my father’s dreams from entering my sleep – because that was what happened when I had these dreams in which he featured so vividly, I knew now – this night I was too tired, and his nightmare had free access to my mind.
