Interlude 2 of
In this chapter, we meet King Hanassan of Ebaru.
Being a king was overrated. Hanassan hated his job, and had always been glad that he was the youngest of the brothers. He figured he’d never have to assume that oppressive throne, yet here he was. His entire family killed, and only him left to rule a nation that hated his very guts.
He knew the rumours. Of course he did. Everyone knew them. And even now they still grew. Of the crimes he had presumably committed. To hear the people tell it, he was a promiscuous git who abused prostitutes and killed their children. According to the rumours, he had committed parricide, many times, simply because he was a power-hungry, inflated maniac who hated competition.
As you read, please remember, this is just a first draft. It comes with the added bonus of inconsistencies, spelling errors and other writing sins.
