The Dragon’s Demise
Forced to watch the brutal murder of the Imperial Family, Runig carries the scars of the Ingravian Rebellion with him into his adult life. A misfit and a recluse, he has nothing to lose when his dying father sends him on an impossible mission.
Since this is a story about war an the lasting effects war can have on a child, it’s not a pretty story. But then again, nobody expects me to write pretty stories. Be aware that this story (unlike most stories in this Children of War anthology) contains graphic violence and mention of sexual abuse.
That said, there’s certainly room for entertainment in the story. I wrote the lyrics of a rowdy song. The kind of song you’d expect a group of rebels to sing when they are sure of their victory.
My friend Michael composed the music and made a fantastic recording of the song, with him doing the lead vocals and me the backing vocals. The result is the video you can watch below.
I won’t lie. I’m very pleased with how it came out and rather proud of it, too!
“Children of War” is set to release on August 24, 2022.
